Athens-based, The Blue Square is a project of Radim and Radical, two producers exploring the boundaries between hip-hop (mainly instrumental), trip-hop and nu-jazz. With Wax Tailor, Bonobo, 40 Winks and Flying Lotus among their favorite artists, they started their career four years ago investigating their own sound equally inspired by the atmosphere of film noir, exotica and spy movies of the past.

Φθαρμένα ζεστά βινίλια, χαλιά από μουσικές βιβλιοθήκες και ξεχασμένα τηλεοπτικά θέματα, ψυχεδέλεια, σάουντρακ από blaxploitation films που δεν έχει ανακαλύψει ακόμα ο Tarantino, σινεματικά grooves που κοστολογούνται υπέρογκα στα παζάρια δίσκων, νοσταλγικό easy listening από τις μέρες του παλιού ευρωπαϊκού κι ελληνικού κινηματογράφου, The Black Angels και 4:20 trip hop, noir ατμόσφαιρα και πλήκτρα που προετοιμάζουν την σκηνή κλιμάκωσης μιας cult κατασκοπικής ταινίας, exotica και old scool hip hop. Το καλοκαίρι του 2010 ο Radim και ο Radical συμφώνησαν ότι τους αρέσουν εξίσου τα παραπάνω. Κι έφτιαξαν το The Blue Square πρότζεκτ, αφήνοντας εξαιρετικές εντυπώσεις με τα δύο πρώτα κομμάτια τους “Tic Toc” και “The Old Devil Sunshine”.
